Declaring our Independence

Seven years ago, on July 5, 2013, we declared our independence by forming Mirador Capital Partners.

So this weekend we will be celebrating two Independence Days.

The place where we used to work is well-regarded. We had comfortable jobs, a mountain of resources, and by all accounts a promising future.

But their model is broken. And we were not going to spend the next decades of our careers working in a model that’s broken.

So we founded Mirador, which, by design, is a place where everyone has freedom. There were more than a few obstacles to overcome but like all Americans we stood up for what we believe in.

Gaining our independence took many, many days and nights of work and healthy doses of both courage and determination.

Thanks to our clients, we came out not only with our independence but with a strong business and the confidence to proceed with our vision.

If you know me, you know I enjoy comparing people and businesses to music and that I refer to Mirador's team as a band. As we enter our seventh year of business, I'm proud to say our band is making great music.

I hope you are all as fortunate as we are this week to get together with your loved ones and listen to your favorite band!

Have a great Independence Day!
